Comfort Zone Workshop Series_Istanbul
The Comfort Zone Workshop explored the theme of "the body in transit" over three days, examining its political and cultural implications.
The interdisciplinary backgrounds of the participants, spanning architecture, dramaturgy, molecular biology, and engineering, enriched the design discussions by introducing diverse perspectives. The spatial, political, and cultural impacts of transportation systems were analyzed, especially through the lens of Mimi Sheller’s Mobility Justice and Leslie Kern’s Feminist City.
These concepts rapidly evolved into full-scale prototypes through a collaborative, iterative design process and then they were tested on the Fındıklı-Bağcılar Tram during the final day of the workshop.
