Comfort Zone
Comfort Zone started as we were questioning the comfort and ergonomics of public space in New York City. We want to dive into the borders of domestic vs public, home vs unhoused concepts. If “Decor presents an evident connection with decorum” as Antoine Picon states, how can we rethink belonging to a city with its occupants?
In addition to Giedion’s ideas about furniture formalizing the body, this project studies how a body and surface redefine spatial relationships with the other dwellers.
